iPhone features Google Street View

The T-Mobile G1's Google Maps Street View implementation is one of the slickest features of the first Android phone, but it looks like Apple's going to keep feature parity -- the latest builds of iPhone OS 2.2 seeded to developers have Street View, as well as the ability to give mass transit directions.

Video Tutorials make learning MS Access easy

Almost every career path requires prior experience with Microsoft Office. Most of my classmates at Carleton University already have prior knowledge of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel, but rarely Microsoft Access. I guess it is so, because the latter is not often utilized for personal needs. As my BUSI 2400 professor Al Pilcher outlined, almost every work place in office environment would require an employee to have a good understanding of what a database is and how to build it, how to edit the data and how to query.

Personally, I find that the easiest way to learn it is by attending a tutorial. When someone goes throught the main functions and features of the software while displaying the steps on the screen, it helps the learning process by providing a visual association.

To complement the tutorials, I searched for additional materials online, and found the following video tutorials, which I found extremely useful and beneficial for learning MS Access:

Microsoft Access 2007 Video Tutorial - Simple query formulas combining field values, arithmetic on field values, creating alias field names, and use of NZ function

Microsoft Access 2007 Video Tutorial - Query Table Joins

Microsoft Access 2007 Video Tutorial - Queries Part Three - Query Criteria Methods and use of Like Operator and Wildcard

Microsoft Access 2007 Video Tutorial - Action Queries - Make Table Query, Update Query, Append Query, Delete Query

Microsoft Access 2007 Video Tutorial - Using Aggregate Functions in Group By Queries

Welcome to my blog!

My name is Paulina Masson, I'm a second year student at Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada.
I grew up in Klaipeda, a major seaport city on the coast of Lithuania, Northern Europe. After high school graduation, I worked as a Logistics Specialist at Siemens Yazaki Lithuania and also at Baltic Logistic Systems. At Siemens, the job I was doing, involved a lot of manual calculations and comparisons of data. I decided to come up with a solution for it - learned Visual Basic in my spare time, and improved MS Access database with custom macros, to perform the work for me. Now the amount of work I used to do in a day, I was able to complete in an hour! My manager was very impressed with the initiative - the company awarded me with a monetary prize, and I was soon promoted.
